Se lanzó el primer tráiler de ‘Duna’. Versión de Denis Villeneuve
Los estudios comenzaron a lanzar avances para 2020 y más allá. Finalmente, el primer tráiler de una nueva adaptación de la clásica novela de ciencia ficción de Frank Herbert, «Dune». Fue liberado.
La historia se centra en el planeta desértico Arrakis, también conocido como Dune, que se ha convertido en el lugar clave en una lucha por el poder galáctico: es la única fuente de la especia melange, necesaria tanto para los viajes espaciales como para la inmortalidad. Paul Atreides (interpretado por Timothée Chalamet) llega a Dune como un adolescente real, pero la intriga del palacio pronto amenaza su vida y lo convierte en una incómoda figura mesiánica para los habitantes del planeta, conocido como Fremen. (El tráiler sugiere que la «yihad» de Paul en los libros se ha convertido en una «cruzada» en la película).
David Lynch dirigió una versión cinematográfica en 1984.
«Duna» esta vez está siendo dirigida por Denis Villeneuve, quien anteriormente dirigió «Arrival» y «Blade Runner 2049». Y tiene un elenco de estrellas: Chalamet está acompañado por Oscar Isaac, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, Zendaya, Jason Momoa y Javier Bardem …
A diferencia de la versión de Lynch, este nuevo «Dune» debe adaptar solo la primera mitad del libro, con una secuencia planeada para manejar el resto. Y mientras Warner Bros. está lanzando la película, su empresa matriz WarnerMedia también está planeando una serie de televisión derivada para HBO Max, con Villeneuve dirigiendo el piloto.
